CHRISTMAS???

christmas keeps getting earlier and earlier each year. this year, it outrageous! seeing christmas commercials a week and a half before thanksgiving, or sometimes even sooner, thats a little weird! when you drive down the road and see peoples christmas trees up a week beofre thatnksgiving, its really weird! its like no one wants to give there thanks anymore on thanksgiving! What happened to the spirit of thanks giving? pretty soon there going to have to get rid of it and just make a VERY early christmas. i know that christmas is all about christ and how he was born, but some people dont see it like that, they see it as an oprotunity to get the prestnents we want. What happened to sharing all of the things your thankful for on thatnksgiving? i think this is all stupid and that christmas should NOT be advertised or even thought about until thanksgiving day is over, AND we have had time to rest to recover from the long weekened! if you agree on this, i would love to see your comments, if you dont, i still would too, maybe it is a good thing, maybe its not, i need some feedback! please write your opinions!

Clair especially agrees with you whole heartily. For years she has complained about Christmas stuff creeping earlier and earlier and taking over some other holidays.

A few stores around here had Christmas stuff side-by-side to their Halloween stuff!

It's simple, Christmas typically = big profits. So if retailers can expand that season then they think it's more money for them. Sad that that's the drive.

I agree, each holiday provides an opportunity to celebrate and to focus our thoughts and actions. Let Thanksgiving be a time of grateful reflection and let Christmas turn our thoughts to the Savior and giving to others.

I completely agree! We n eed to stop and remember thanksgivng and remeber the GIVING part and the THANKFUL part. I am so impressed you think of these things and it is important to you. you are such a sweetie.

I agree with you. Each holiday should be visited individually and celebrated to it's fullest without any infringement on them from other "bigger" holidays. When we went costume shopping for halloween at walmart there was a christmas isle already up!! It's ridiculous. I agree that we should spend more time giving thanks before we start getting. I think people would remember the true meaning of christmas better if there were a holiday that reminded them to be thankful before. . .

Right on Sista! I am impressed with your insight on Christmas. After all the first name is Christ. Thank you Kenzi for your post. I am proud of you.

I agree that Christmas does get earlier and earlier. I guess it depends on how you let it effect you. I love Thanksgiving and think it does get bypassed quickly especially with the crazy Christmas shopping the next day. It is easy to get caught up in it, but I love Christmas and never think it is too early to have the real spirit of Christmas within you:) P.S. I need your e-mail so I can invite you to my blog:)

I AGREE! This year Fred Meyer had Christmas out before Halloween. I know the stores are just cashing in on the holiday. The longer Christmas stuff is out, the more people will buy. Even though it can be tempting, I don't do any Christmas shopping until Thanksgiving is over. I like to celebrate only one holiday at a time!
